Dr. Balkrishan.V.Sangvikar is MBA, Ph.D., and has around 26 years of Experience in Teaching / Industry and Research with Nationally and internationally reputed Institutes, universities, and Companies. Dr. Sangvikar is Chartered Marketer and Fellow of Chartered Institute of Marketing, United Kingdom. He is CMBE, Certified Management and Business Educator by CABS, Chartered Association of Business Schools, United Kingdom, He is FHEA, SFHEA, Senior fellow of Higher Education Academy, United Kingdom, and a. He is a Member of the American Marketing Association, USA. Presently he is a Senior Professor at the Department of Management Sciences, (PUMBA), Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune. Also, he has worked at Teesside University, International Business School, in Middlesbrough, United Kingdom as a Faculty member and taught undergraduate and postgraduate business management programs, and also handled responsibilities as Director of Studies and Coordinator of the Ethics Committee. He has worked with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India New Delhi as an officer in charge of Pune Decentralized office, He has worked with companies like Gregory Nicolus and Sterling Magnum Ltd, Mumbai. Dr. Sangvikar is the Past President of the Association of Indian Management Schools (AIMS) Hyderabad in the year 2016-17, which is a Networking Body of 800 Business Schools in India. Also, He was Dean of the Management faculty of Savitribai Phule Pune University, Dr. Sangvikar was Professor and Head of PUMBA, Department of Management Sciences, University of Pune, for two terms (2007-10 and 2013-16). And Head, Department of Commerce, SPPU. He was heading CSIR-IPR Chair and worked as Coordinator, SET Examinations of Maharashtra and Goa Governments at Pune University. He was the Chairman Board of Studies in Marketing and International Business Management and a Member of the Academic Council of SPPU for 15 years. He is teaching Marketing, Retail Management, and other business Management Subjects to MBA/BBA Students and Guiding/Supervising Ph.D./DBA, M.Phil., and Masters Students. 15 Research Scholars have completed their Ph.D. under his supervision. He has mentored and supervised the Post-Doctoral research work of 02 research fellows sponsored by Savitribai Phule Pune University. He has published More than 50 research papers in refereed journals including ABDC Listed, Scopus, and the web of science indexed. Published papers with Sage, Emerald, inderscience and other reputed publishers. Also, he has authored-coauthored 7 Books on Marketing and Business Management.
He has participated in various National / International conferences as a Key Speaker. He was a Member of AICTE’s All India Board of Management Education. Worked as a member of ACBSP (Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs, USA). Member, Executive Board on AMDISA, Association of Management Development institutions in South Asia. Worked as a Member of CII– Education and Research Panel. He has completed Major Research Projects as a principal investigator in the retailing area funded by University Grants Commission. He was a Member of the Working Group of the Planning Commission, Govt. of India, on Technical Education to draft Five Year Plan (2012-2017). He was awarded research fellowships by Stipendium Hungarian, Government of Hungary, and S.A.I.A, Government of Slovakia. Also, he was awarded Prof. Y.K. Bhushan Best management teacher award 2017 in India. He was honored with the Ravi J. Mathai National Fellowship by the Association of Indian Management Schools in 2021 for his contribution to the field of Management education during the national convention. He has worked as Visiting Research Fellow and Visiting Professor with the University of New South Wales, Sydney, Australia, and Politecnico di Milano, Milan, Italy and Turku School of Economics, Turku, Finland, University of Deusto, Bilbao, Spain. He is a Professor on the Panel of the Chair of Indian Studies abroad set up by ICCR, Indian Council for Cultural Relations, New Delhi.
