Dr. Akshay Kumar Yogi is an accomplished Associate Scientist in Agronomy at the International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics (ICRISAT). With a strong academic foundation, he holds both an M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Agronomy from the prestigious Indian Agricultural Research Institute (ICAR-IARI), New Delhi.

Specialising in Dryland Agronomy, Regenerative Agriculture, and Natural Resource Management, Dr. Yogi has made significant contributions to sustainable farming systems. His expertise spans resilient crops and food systems, Natural Resource Management, Multi-cropping, Tillage and land use systems, dryland crops, oilseed and pulses, CA and Regenerative agriculture, greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions measurement, environmental footprint analysis, and advanced data analytics and statistical modelling—skills that are critical for addressing climate-smart agricultural challenges.


He is also a sought-after speaker and educator, having delivered lectures on sustainable agriculture and innovation, as well as radio talks on national platforms, covering the production agronomy of millet crops and the effects of climate change on agricultural sustainability and the environment. His commitment to knowledge dissemination and community engagement reflects his broader mission to advance resilient agricultural practices in semi-arid regions.
