About
Saeid Pirasteh is a full professor of geomatics and geospatial artificial intelligence and Associate Dean of the Institute of Artificial Intelligence at Shaoxing University. He received the Ph.D. degree in geomatics from the University of Waterloo in 2018. His research interests include Geospatial Data Science and GeoAI, Remote Sensing and data processing, GIS and Geospatial information analysis and management for their novel applications in hazards & disasters beyond. He has co-authored and published over 250 papers, including top journals such as Int. J. Appl. Earth Obser. and Geoinformation, IEEE Trans. Geosci. and Remote Sens., GISciences and Remote Sens. and flagship conferences such as IGRASS and ISPRS. His publications have received 3293 Google Scholar Citations with an h-Index of 28. He is currently an expert member and Advisory Board of the United Nations Global Geospatial Information Management (UN-GGIM) Academic Network (2022-2024) and the Chair of the ISPRS ICWG III/IVa on Disaster Management (2022-2026). He has supervised and co-supervised nearly 60 master/Ph.D. students, postdoc fellows and visiting scholars. He is a recipient of several prestigious awards from IEEE, ISPRS, and FIG.
