About

I am Dr. Sadhna, a dedicated academician and researcher in the field of textiles, with a focus on traditional textiles, surface design, weaving, and testing. I am currently honored to serve as Associate Professor of Fashion Design and Margaret Bishop Professor of Strategic Design and Management at Woxsen University, Telangana, India. My journey in academia began with my Ph.D. at Banasthali Vidyapith, where I conducted pioneering research on "low-cost alternatives for Printing of handloom carpets." During this time, I evaluated the functional and performance properties of printed handloom carpets, providing valuable insights into enhancing the quality and sustainability of these textiles. Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of mentoring and guiding students in various capacities. As an Assistant Professor at Lovely Professional University and Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, I taught textiles to graduate and postgraduate students, supervised Ph.D. candidates, and co-organized annual fashion shows. Being involved in research committees and serving as the Head of the Fashion, Textile, and Interior Design Department has allowed me to contribute to the development of educational programs and promote process improvement and e-learning initiatives.
In addition to my academic roles, I have explored industry opportunities to enrich my understanding of practical applications. My internship at the Weavers Service Centre exposed me to the art of weaving and honed my skills in this traditional craft. As a firm believer in continuous learning, I actively participate in conferences, workshops, and seminars. This commitment to professional development has not only expanded my knowledge base but has also allowed me to establish a wide network of fellow professionals and researchers in the field.
Besides my academic endeavors, I am a passionate advocate for quality assurance and academic excellence. As the IQAC and NAAC Coordinator at Woxsen University, I contribute to maintaining high standards of education and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
