Dr Amresh Kumar Singh, B Sc., MBBS, MD (Microbiology) has completed Master degree from one of the most reputed medical institution named, Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences, Lucknow UP and awarded as “Best Doctor” by Government of UP during residency, and is appointed as Assistant Professor in the Department of Microbiology, BRD Medical College Gorakhpur UP, India in 2014. He has established an art of the state BSL-3 Tuberculosis Molecular Laboratory and currently appointed as In-charge of TB Reference lab for Mycobacterial culture and drug susceptibility testing by RNTCP in BRD Medical college Gorakhpur, India. He is also appointed as Co-ordinator of Viral Infectious diseases surveillance and diagnosis including testing of Viral Encephalitis, H1N1 virus, Dengue virus and HIV etc. A Laboratory of Viral Infection testing established as Viral Diagnostic Research Laboratory (VDRL) under his supervision and working as Incharge-VDRL.
He published more than 37 research paper in esteemed National and International Journal and five book chapters; 03 in Springer “Molecular methods for the assessment of microbial biofilms”, one in Kumar-The Molecular Immunology of Neurological Disease. Elsevier Publication, and one in “Bacteriophage” INTECHOPEN LIMITED, UK, till now in his credit. He has attended 04 International and more than 20 National/State level conferences including presented more than 10 oral and poster presentations. He has also presented a paper in International Conference of Infectious Diseases (ICID) in 2010 at Bangkok, Thailand. He has also presented a paper in European Congress of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases (ECCMID) in 2013 at Berlin, Germany. He has also delivered many lectures/ presentations in different National conferences and many International conferences. He is recently trained in “Quality council of India” for NABL/NABH registration, Quality management system for NABL registration and internal audit and in Blended training for HIV under NACO, Govt of India. He is also trained for basic to advance methodology training for CDST (TB Lab) under RNTCP in NTI, Bangalore. Recently trained for Training on Biomedical and Health Research Ethics by ICMR in January, 2020 at BRD Medical College, Gorakhpur, jointly organized by ICMR Bioethics Unit, NCDIR, Bangalore. Established new Virology BSL -3 Laboratory a state of art lab in BRD Medical College Gorakhpur for COVID-19 pandemic testing and successfully completed almost more than 18 lacs RT-PCR test for SARS-CoV-2. In mean time when Mucormycosis infections were on rising trends, we have established an art of Mycology Lab for diagnosis of fungal infections in COVID-19 or Postcovid-19 infection. Recently I have cleared Basic course in Biomedical Research- Cycle 5 course examination conducted by NPTEL, via Swayam Govt of India.
