About
I grew up in small border towns named "Dhindsa" and "Qadian" both located in the district "Gurdaspur" of Indian Punjab (literal not the geographical meaning of Punjab is land of five rivers). I finished my most of schooling at one of the renowned Indian public schools, “Sainik School Kapurthala” (with unique cadet number 4743). I did my graduation (in Science at Sikh National College, Qadian, Punjab) and postgraduation (in Physics at D. A. V. College, Amritsar, Punjab) followed by M. Phil (in theoretical Physics at MM University Mullana, Haryana). In January 2013, for my PhD studies, I moved to the University of Padova, Italy with a prestigious “CARIPARO” fellowship for foreign students, which is highly competitive (only 15 positions are awarded per calendar year in the whole university out of a few thousand applicants from all over the globe).
After my Ph.D., I worked as a research associate at the Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee (IITR) for a few months followed by a two- and half-year postdoctoral fellowship at Hokkaido University, Japan, and another two years as a research associate at the Research Center for Nuclear Physics (RCNP), Osaka University, Japan. After that, I worked as an Assistant Professor-Research Academics (Adiunkt) at the Faculty of Physics, University of Warsaw, Poland for six months. In August 2022, I started my research associate position at the University of Manchester funded by a Nuclear Physics consolidated grant.
My major research interests include the theoretical investigation of the structure and reaction studies of the nuclei lying away from the valley of stability using various few-body approaches. I am also interested in nuclear reaction data compilation and evaluation activity.
