Dr. Surendra Singh Jatav is currently working as an assistant professor at the Department of Economics, Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University, Lucknow, since March 2021. Dr. Jatav earned his Ph.D. from BBAU, Lucknow, and his M.Phil. from Bundelkhand University, Jhansi. Prior to joining BBAU, Dr. Jatav worked as guest faculty at the Central University of Jammu and Senior Research Associate at ICAR-National Institute of Agricultural Economics and Policy Research, New Delhi, and Senior Research Fello at ICAR-Indian Agriculture Statistics Research Institute, New Delhi. My doctoral work focused on climate change's effects on agricultural productivity.

Dr. has published more than 70 papers in highly cited and internationally recognized journals like Ecological Indicators, Climate Risk Management, Natural Hazards, Regional Sustainability, Local Development and Society, Area Development and Policy, Journal of Rural Development, Indian Journal of Agriculture Economics, Discover
Sustainability, Indian Journal of Traditional Knowledge, Indian Journal of Extension Education, Discover Agriculture, Journal of Agrometereology, etc. Additionally, Dr. Jatav has published two books, "Climate Change and Agriculture in India: Vulnerability to Adaptation" and "Basics of Statistics", and is currently working on two more books, "Building Climate Resilient Society: Issues and Challenges" (Springer Nature) and "Basics of Mathematical Economics" (Rajesh
Publications, New Delhi).

As far as statistical data analysis is concerned, Dr. Jatav has projected the climate change impact on agriculture productivity in mainstream agro-climatic zones of India using CODEX-RCP scenarios. Furthermore, Dr. Jatav assesses the vulnerability of the mainstream agro-climatic zones of Uttar Pradesh and the Districts of Rajasthan and Gujarat using the IPCC-Vulnerability Framework, as suggested in Assessment Reports 4 and 5. We also examined food and soil sustainability in major Indian states using the IPCC framework. Similarly, I used multi-criteria analysis to examine the determinants of climate change adaptation strategies in India's rainfed regions. I also examined how a farmer decides a correct and cost-effective adaptation strategy to cope with changing climates.

Furthermore, I assessed the climate resilience of Indian farmers using large-scale district-level data from 14 mainstream agro-climatic zones. Moreover, Dr. Jatav is an expert in handling large-scale data such as 59th, 69th, 70th, 76th, and 77th rounds of NSSO, DHS, NFHS-1, 2, 3, 4, & 5 rounds, the Sage social science database, ICRISAT-VDSA, and daily gridded data of rainfall and temperature. Additionally, Dr. Jatav excels in data analysis using time series, cross-sectional, and panel data. Dr. Jatav possesses expertise in estimating descriptive statistics, multiple regression, logit & bit modelling, and index analysis.

Dr. Jatav is also a life member of academic profession bodies like the Indian Society of Ecological Economists, the Indian Society for Agricultural Economics, the Indian Society of Extension Education, and the Uttar Pradesh Uttarakahnd Economic Association. Further, Dr. Jatav is voluntarily serving as an associate editor in the SN Business & Economics (Springer Nature) journal, an advisory board member of Heliyon (cell press), and an associate editor in Frontiers in Climate Risk Management. Additionally, Dr. Jatav offers his services as a reviewer for prominent climate risk management journals such as Climate Risk Management, Climate and Development, Natural Hazards, Ecological Indicators, and Frontiers in Sustainable Food Systems.

The Centre for Development Studies, located in Trivandrum, Kerala, has invited Dr. Jatav as an expert to review the progress reports of doctoral students. He also serves on the selection committee for resource persons and postgraduate
teachers at Kendriya Vidhyalay Sangthan. He is frequently setting examination papers for Aligarh Muslim University, IMS University, Dehradun, Invertis University, Lucknow, and Kerala Agricultural University. The faculty development programs, research methodology workshops, budget discussions, and other events frequently invite him
to deliver lectures.

Dr. Jatav received funding from ICSSR, New Delhi, to organize an International Seminar on Building Climate Resilient Society. He also received funding from BBAU, Lucknow, for a minor project and to organize a winter school on large-scale data analysis and proposal writing. In addition, Dr. Jatav instructs master's and doctoral students in mathematical economics, statistics, agricultural economics, computer applications in social science, large-scale data analysis in social science, economics of climate change, and the fundamentals of economics.

The NIRDPR, Hyderabad, awarded Dr. Jatav the best paper award, and BBAU, Lucknow, gave him the Research and Academic Excellence Award in 2024. ISEC Bangalore gave Prof. R.S. Despande Award in Agricultural Economics in 2025
