About

I am an Associate Professor at the School of Mechanical Engineering, Universiti Sains Malaysia. This provides me with vast teaching experience, research experience, and experience with industrial collaboration. My career runs into eight years of hard-core, dedicated teaching and pioneering 15 years of research, besides a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering. I have to my credit 120 high-impact journal articles and a seminal book on lead-free solder technology. These are true reflections of my commitment to furthering mechanical engineering.

Some of my professional contributions include delivering essential engineering consultancy services in Malaysia and acquiring 25 major research grants, including the Fundamental Research Scheme Grants from the Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia and the Newton Fund UK. This clearly indicates my ability to bring strong research funding into the institution and lead innovative projects.

I am dedicated to creating an engaging learning environment using active teaching methodologies and practical examples. My international appointments as an external examiner and visiting lecturer have been recognized with the Excellence Services Award 2021, highlighting my global impact and teaching excellence. Along with strong interpersonal skills and a passion for collaboration, I have fostered close professional links with industries and the broader community.

As an industrial network coordinator, I have coordinated internships, industrial collaborations, and research partnerships, ensuring impactful research outcomes. I have mentored many postgraduate and Higher Degree Research (HDR) students, guiding their academic and professional development. My mentorship supports students in publishing research, presenting at conferences, and securing funding.

My research focuses on Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), Fluid-Structure Interaction (FSI), Molecular Dynamics (MD), Renewable Energy, and Electronic Packaging. I have actively participated in university committees and organized international conferences, promoting research and academic collaboration.

I am driven to promote Mechanical Engineering globally through quality teaching and professional engagements. Committed to excellence in academics and research, I aim to build the next generation of engineers and make meaningful contributions to society through connections with industry and academic peers."
