Dr. J. Thimmasetty is presently working as a Professor and HOD, Bapuji Pharmacy College, Davangere with the total teaching experience of 25 years. He studied B. Pharm from National College of Pharmacy, Shimoga in 1993 securing 7th rank from Mysore University, obtained Masters in Pharmaceutical Technology from V.L. College of Pharmacy, Raichur in 1995 securing 1st Rank (Gold medal) from Gulbarga University and obtained Ph.D. from Vinayaka Missions University, Salem in 2010. He has authored 33 publications in National and International Journals and presented 26 posters in the conferences including IPC, APTICON, and KAPTICON. He is a coauthor of 8 popular books for pharmacy related subjects and is been involved in writing a couple of books. He is a reviewer of 5 journals and is also an editorial board member of RJPS, an official pharmacy journal of Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Karnataka. He has guided 37 masters’ thesis. He has reviewed and evaluated Ph.D. thesis of Manipal University, Saurashtra University, Karpagam University, and Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences. His thirst for the research extended for 8 M.Sc. projects of Kuvempu University and 6 MDS projects of Rajiv Gandhi University. He received 8 grants from different funding agencies. He served as a KSPC inspector and RGUHS inspector. He is a BOS member for B. Pharm and Pharm D. once each. He was appointed as a member of B. Pharm and M. Pharm syllabus revising committee of RGUHS. He also served as a RGUHS flying squad to inspect post graduate examination centres. He is a member of APTI and KSPC. He served as an examiner for all the levels of the pharmacy courses in various universities at such as Gulbarga University, Kuvempu University, Bangalore University, Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, JSS University, Vinayaka Missions University, Manipal University, KLE University, Goa University, Osmania University, Gujarat Technological University, Sri Ramachandra University, Nitte University Saurashtra University, JNTU (Anantapur). He had also set the question papers for several universities. He was honoured as a posters evaluator in conferences held at Gujarat Technological University, Ahmedabad, Gujarat on 18/02/2015; APTICON 2016, 21st APTI Annual National Convention, Manipal University, Manipal during 14th to 16th October 2016; KAAPTICON 2018, and 3rd Annual convention of APTI (Karnataka State Branch), NET Pharmacy College, Raichur, 26th & 27th October 2018. He had presented 12 guest lectures. He enjoys Google citations of more than 388 till date.
