About
Dr. N. L. Panwar is a Professor of Renewable Energy Engineering in the Faculty of Engineering at Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology, Udaipur, Rajasthan. He earned his PhD from the Centre for Energy Studies at the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi. His research interests include energy and exergy analyses of thermal systems, energy efficiency, and energy management. Dr. Panwar is actively engaged in designing and developing improved cookstoves, biomass gasifiers, and solar thermal devices for industrial and rural applications. He has an extensive academic and professional portfolio, with over 180 research papers published in international journals, 20 authored books on renewable energy, and 15 patents to his credit.
Dr. Panwar's contributions have earned him several prestigious accolades, including the "Prakritik Urja Puraskar" from the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, Government of India, for his outstanding book on Alternative Energy Resources. He has also received the "Shrimati Vijay-Usha Sodha Research Award" from the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi in 2014, the Rajasthan Energy Conservation Award in 2018 from the Government of Rajasthan, and the National Academy of Agricultural Sciences (NAAS) Recognition Award for the Biennium 2023–2024. According to a report by Stanford University, USA, based on citation metrics, Dr. Panwar is recognized among the top 2% of scientists worldwide across all research disciplines.
