About
I currently serve as the Department Head of Crop and Soil Sciences and a Professor of Soil Physics at OSU. I am a Fellow of the Soil Science Society of America and a recipient of the Outstanding Career Award from NMSU. Additionally, I have received Patricia Christmore and NACTA teaching awards. I earned my PhD from the University of Natural Resources and Applied Life Sciences in Vienna, in collaboration with UC Davis. Over the past 20 years, I have mentored several international visiting scientists, five postdoctoral researchers, more than 36 graduate students as Chair of the Graduate Committee, 40 additional students as a committee member, and 80 undergraduate students. I have also secured approximately $20 million in extramural funding from various sources. Throughout my career, I have traveled extensively and served as a visiting professor in China, India, Mexico, and the Netherlands. In addition, I have coauthored four books and approximately 180 refereed journal articles.
