About
Dr. Mrinal Kanti Mandal received B. Tech. and M. Tech. degrees from the Institute of Radiophysics and Electronics, University of Calcutta in 2001 and 2003, respectively, and Ph.D. degree from the Department of Electronics and Electrical Communication Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur in 2008. From 2007 to 2009, he worked as a Research Fellow at the Institute for Infocom Research, Agency for Science, Technology, and Research, Singapore. He also worked as a postdoctoral fellow at the Université du Québec à Montréal from 2009 to 2010 and at the École Polytechnique de Montréal from 20010 to 2012. He joined IIT Kharagpur as a faculty of the Department of E and ECE in 2012, where he is presently serving as a professor.
Dr. Mandal is a senior member of IEEE (2013). He is on the editorial board of several journals. He was on the board of organizing committee members of several international conferences, general chair of the first IEEE AP-MTT flagship conference MAPCON 2022, general chair for the India Council flagship conference INDICON 2024, and was the chair of IEEE Kharagpur Section in 2022-23. At present, he is serving as an associate editor of IETE Journal of Research.
He has authored or co-authored over 170 journal and conference papers of which 49 are in different IEEE journals. He has also filed 12 patents. His present research interest is the co-design of active and passive components and their applications in reconfigurable antennas, millimeter-wave imaging systems, beamforming networks, Doppler radars, and six-port receivers
