▪ Adept research writer with 85 research publications in esteemed national and international journals. Awarded the Young Investigator award by Crohn’s and colitis Foundation of America and Young Researcher Award by NIDA USA. Fellow Cancer prevention Summer curriculum 2018, NCI, USA.
▪ Awarded more than 20 travel grants to present research work at international level conferences. Presented over 30 research posters and papers.
▪ Executive committee chair for designing, implementation and report writing of the mass awareness program on the health hazards of tobacco consumption among Tribal population of Yelagiri hills, Tamil Nadu, which got showcased in the Limca Book of record. Successfully planned and conducted 42 population-based survey studies from protocol drafting to report writing.
▪ Collaborated with Resource Centre for Tobacco Control, Cancer Institute (WIA), Chennai, organised 2 zones in the Tamil Nadu Adult Tobacco Survey, a part of Global Adult Tobacco Survey (GATS) 2015. Organized health promotion and health education activities to disadvantaged groups, developed health education training modules and health education aids.
▪ Active member of organization team of various national level workshops, convention, capacity building drives, community health camps and public health education and awareness programs. Active member of the National Oral Health Program team.
▪ Active engagement with Nilgris Adivasi welfare Association, Nilgris, Tamil Nadu, India to promote early cancer detection and tobacco cessation among Irula tribes. Established 4 rural Satellite Centres for Comprehensive Dental care, organised 425 Public Oral Health Out- Reach Programmes and adopted 3 schools for Oral Health Programmes.
▪ Single handedly conducted a questionnaire study among tribal population which put forth a challenging situation of intercultural differences and access to the community. The study is now under review for publication in a international journal.
▪ Have engaged with many collaborative research activities with Norway Health Directorate, Global health security network, Royal society of Edinburgh. Ongoing research with Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) on international COVID iCARE project and HBIC project with International Society of Behavioral Medicine, in collaboration with the National Cancer Institute, Maryland (USA).
