About
Dr. Ram Prakash Sharma was born and brought up in Dholpur District, Rajasthan, India. He obtained his B.Sc., M.Sc., and M. Phil Degrees from the University of Rajasthan in 1990, 1992, and 1994 respectively. He was awarded the Ph.D. Degree in Fluid Dynamics by the Department of Mathematics, University of Rajasthan, India in 2003.
He is former Director incharge, Member of the Board of Governors (BOG), BOS, and Dean. Currently is working as member of senate, Professor of Department of Mechanical Engineering, National Institute of Technology, Jote, Papum Pare District, Arunachal Pradesh-791113, India.
Dr. Sharma has more than 34 Years of UG and PG teaching and research experience. Dr. Sharma has guided eight student for his Ph.D. degree, 16 M. Tech. students and 10 Ph.D. students are pursuing, and and 15 B.Tech. are pursuing their B. Tech. Project.
Besides teaching, he is actively engaged in research in the field of Fluid Mechanics. His research work has covered boundary layer flows, Newtonian and non-Newtonian fluids, and heat and mass transfer in porous/ non-porous media, gasification, and Machine learning. His research interests also covered nanofluids flow problems and many others. Dr. Sharma has published more than 200 publications in peer-reviewed National and International Journals. He is also a reviewer of many important National and International Journals
He is a life member of more than one and a half dozen National and International Academic societies. Dr. Sharma was elected Joint Secretary of the Executive committee of ISTAM (International Society for Theoretical and Applied Mechanics, IIT Kharagpur) From December 2015 for three years and Elected Member of the Executive committee of ISTAM from December 2014 for three years.
Dr. Sharma has been organized Two, one-month Annual Foundation School, 6 International and 6 National conference, a One-month yoga training program, Five Popular lecture series- delivered by Prof. Vasudha Kamat (Member NEP 2020), Prof. Anand Kumar (JNU New Delhi), Dr. Sunil Mohanty, Great scholar, thinker, and social worker and Prof. Amitabha Ghosh, Former Director IIT Kharagpur and Padam Shree Prof. Dinesh Singh, Former Vice-Chancellor, University of Delhi and one IST on Linear Algebra (2021) and one Teacher’s Enrichment Workshop-(TEW) on Partial Differential Equations during February 17 - March 13, 2022, sponsored by National Centre for Mathematics (NCM) IIT Mumbai.
Further, Dr. Sharma had organized Hindi Pakhwara Samaroh and some eminent invited speakers were Prof. Rajneesh Kumar Shukla, Vice-Chancellor, Mahatma Gandhi Antarrashtriya Hindi Vishwavidyalaya (A Central University ) Wardha, Maharashtra, India., Prof. Shri Prakash Mani Tripathi, Vice Chancellor, Indira Gandhi National tribal University Amarkantak, MP, Prof. T.V. Katimani, Vice Chancellor, National tribal University Anadhrapradesh, India.

Dr. Sharma has participated in more than 200 National and International seminars/ conferences and has also presented research papers. Dr. Sharma has given many invited lectures/sessions the chaired and attended over 15 ATM workshops, summer school, and an induction program.
