About

Dr. Sunita Devi is an Assistant Professor of Microbiology in the Department of Basic Sciences, College of Forestry, Dr. Y.S. Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry, Nauni, Solan, Himachal Pradesh. She holds B.Sc., M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees and has qualified ASRB-NET in Agricultural Microbiology. Her research expertise includes Environmental Microbiology, Agricultural Microbiology and Microbial Biotechnology, with a focus on keratinolytic microorganisms, microbial waste management, biofertilizers, PGPR and sustainable agricultural applications. She has published 50 research papers, 9 review articles, 2 books, 15 book chapters and 25 popular articles. She has completed 6 externally funded research projects, including 3 as Principal Investigator and 3 as Co-Principal Investigator, and has guided 8 postgraduate and doctoral students as Major Advisor (5 M.Sc. and 3 Ph.D.). She has 3 published patent applications and has developed a novel plate assay method for qualitative screening of bacterial keratinases. Her research contributions focus on developing microbial technologies for sustainable agriculture, waste valorization and environmental management.
