About

Dr. Ankit Srivastava is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Feroze Gandhi Institute of Engineering and Technology with more than 15 years of academic and industrial experience. He completed his Ph.D. from Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology, an Institute of National Importance under the Government of India, with research focused on the design, development, and performance evaluation of indirect solar dryers integrated with thermal energy storage materials and phase change materials (PCMs). His doctoral work involved mathematical modeling and simulation of thermal energy storage systems using COMSOL software for solar drying applications.

Dr. Srivastava obtained his M.Tech in Mechanical Engineering (Industrial Systems Engineering) from Kamla Nehru Institute of Technology and his B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University. Before joining academia, he worked as a Quality Engineer at Ramboll IMI Soft Pvt. Ltd.

His research interests include solar energy systems, thermal energy storage, phase change materials, solar drying technologies, renewable energy, computational modeling, CFD analysis, sustainable energy systems, and advanced thermal management. He has published several research papers, review articles, and book chapters in reputed international journals and publishers, including Elsevier, Springer Nature, and Apple Academic Press. His notable contributions include studies on solar drying systems, techno-economic and environmental analysis of industrial solar dryers, and thermal energy storage applications using PCM-based materials.

Dr. Srivastava is also the inventor/co-inventor of Indian and UK patents related to alternative fuel systems and advanced additive manufacturing technologies. In addition to his research activities, he has actively participated in numerous faculty development programs, workshops, and short-term courses related to research methodology, scientific writing, renewable energy, high-performance computing, automation, robotics, and ICT-based teaching methodologies.

His current research focuses on sustainable thermal energy storage solutions, solar-assisted drying technologies for agricultural applications, and the integration of advanced materials for renewable energy systems.
