About

Prof. Arup Barman, Dean of the Jawaharlal Nehru School of Management Studies at present and serving as a faculty member in the Department of Business Administration, Assam University, Silchar, since Dec. 1998. He teaches HRM and HRD, business & microeconomics, and the application of technology in business. Prof. Barman is an orator of excellence and a good motivational speaker too. As a researcher in the management field. Prof. Barman occupied his position of uniqueness through his creativity.

He is a proud recipient of the Post-Doctoral Research Award from UGC, 2009-2011 (India); he is an Accredited Management Teacher (AMT) from AICTE-AIMA. He is a recipient of a scholarship from Global Development Network (GDN) and CIPPEC, Argentina; a Fellow Chartered Educator (honoris causa) issued under the academic treaty of Consortium Euro-America (CUE); a recipient of the Best Reviewer Award (2011) from INPPRF; the Best Teacher Award from MTC-Global in 2011, and the Best Professor (Teacher) Award (2013) from the Association of Scientists and Developers Foundation (ASDF Global).

He was a Fellow of the Indian Society of Business Management (FISBM), Chennai; a Fellow of the Agri-Horticultural Society (FHAS), India; a Head (Hony) of the International Research and Development Council (CCLP-Worldwide, a consultative organization to ECOSOC, UN); and a consultant at Lumen Publishing House (Romania). He is a Fellow of the World Business Institute, Australia.

Dr. Barman has more than 210 international research papers in various international journals of repute. He has attended a few dozen national and international seminars (in India and abroad) and is associated with academic and developmental projects. He also serves as a member of the review and technical committees of many high-impact academic and research journals published in India and abroad.

The London Journal of Engineering Research (LJER) editorial board recognized Professor Barman as the Quarterly Franklin Membership on 12 July 2018. In November 2024, he received a Peer Review Award certificate from REVIEWER CREDIT, GmBH, Germany.

Prof. Barman is a member of the Inclusive Policy Lab, UNESCO, World Research Organisation (WRO), World Research Union, and member, referee & professor, IMRTC, ORLANDO, USA. He is an ardent believer in egalitarianism and humanitarianism for peace and coexistence. He wishes to assert that development and peace are possible only when education educates with the abundance philosophy at this moment.
