About

Ankita Bhowmik is an accomplished Senior Research Fellow at the School of Environmental Studies, Jadavpur University, pursuing her Ph.D. work on ‘Development of a waste management technology for pilot-scale production of an organic fertilizer from rural abattoir’ at Jadavpur University. She is B. Tech in Chemical Engineering from West Bengal University of Technology (2016). During her bachelor’s degree her dissertation work was on ‘Experimental investigation of degradability of Polythene (PE) under different media in comparison with biodegradability of Polylactic Acid (PLA) and synthesized potato & maize starch film’. She is also M. Tech in Environmental Biotechnology from Jadavpur University (2018). During her Master's degree dissertation, she worked on 'Production of organic fertilizer by utilizing slaughterhouse waste: Process development and Product Characterization '. She has co-authored in 3 research article and is a co-inventor of patent (370569 of 2021) granted in India.
