About
Prof. Manoj Kumar Jain is Professor of Hydrology, and Former Head of the Department of Hydrology, IIT Roorkee. He holds B. Tech. and M. Tech. (Gold Medal) from Jabalpur, followed by a Ph.D. degree from IIT Roorkee. His research interests include distributed hydrological modelling, soil erosion studies, soil and water conservation engineering, hydrological analysis and design, remote sensing, GIS applications in hydrology, drought studies, water accounting etc. He supervised 14-Ph.D. and 64-M. Tech. dissertations and examined 10 external PhD thesis as an external examiner. Dr. Jain published over 150 High Impact Journals/Conference research papers and 3 book chapters. He is also serving as Editor of Hydrology Journal of IAH, Associate Editor of Hydrological Sciences Journal. He has also served as a Member of Editorial Board of J. Environmental Management. He is a Fellow member of Indian Water Resources Society (India) and life member of Indian Association of Hydrologists (IAH). He is a member of IAHS. He is also a member of Technical Advisory Committee of National Institute of Hydrology, Roorkee.
Prof. Jain has trained several senior-level scientists/engineers under various capacity-building programs from India and Afro-Asian Countries. He has completed twelve R&D projects sponsored by various organizations. He has also completed 27 consultancy projects for multiple clients, including NTPC Ltd, THDC Ltd., Himachal EMTA Ltd., L&T Ltd, Reliance Energy Ltd., NLM Vientiane City, Lao PDR, Directorate of Groundwater, Govt. of Odisha, APSDMS, Andhra Pradesh, Department of Water Resources, Govt. of Odisha, etc.
