Dr. Omkar S. Vaidya is a Full Time Principal at Maharshi Karve Stree Shikshan Samstha's Maharshi Karve Mahila Mahavidyalay (Bachelor of Computer Application), Wai (Dist. Satara, Maharashtra State). He completed B.E. (Electronics Engineering) in 2009, M.E. (Communication Engineering) in 2013 and Ph.D. (E&TC Engineering) in March 2020. He has 15 years of teaching experience. His research area is Image Processing, Computer Vision and Machine Learning. He is approved Ph.D. Guide in E&TC Engg. of Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune. He has filed 5 patents. He has developed the E- content on laboratory exercises in Electronic Devices and Circuits for staffs and students. He has authored one book with International Publisher and published 38 research papers in National/International Journals with good impact factor. Also, he has presented 38 research papers in National/International Conferences.
He has received “Best Paper Award” twice for his research papers in Conferences. He has been awarded as “Best Outstanding Young Researcher Award”. He has been honoured by various Government and Non-Government Apex bodies. He served as Evaluators for several hackathons and design contests and worked as Reviewers and Session Chairs for many conferences. His biography is published in Asia Pacific Who’s Who 2017 directory. He is a Chartered Engineer in Electronics and Telecom division, Senior Member of IEEE and Fellow Member of IETE. He is associated with professional bodies like IEI, ISTE, ISCA and IAENG. He has guided 11 PG dissertations and 50+ UG projects.
He served as Dean Research of SITRC, Nashik and had collaborated with various research organizations. He was an Editor of The International Journal on Emerging Trends in Technology. He worked as Principal Investigator for research project funded by Savitribai Phule Pune University under Research Mentorship Program. He was mentor of Research Grant for establishment of Start-up funded by The Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Centres (IEDC), Govt. of India. Also, he was supervisor for research project selected for India Innovation Challenge Design Contest organized by AICTE, DST and received the TI tools from Texas Instruments to implement the system.
He worked as SPOC of SWAYAM-NPTEL Local Chapter and Focal person of IIRS-ISRO Outreach Program. He was the Nodal Officer of Atal Ranking of Institutions on Innovation Achievements (ARIIA). He was the PG (VLSI & Embedded System) coordinator at SITRC, Nashik.
