About
I completed PhD research in 2018 at Banaras Hindu University, India, where I discovered novel mutations, in addition to known mutations, in Indian PKD patients and corelated their genotype to phenotype. I validated role of the genetic variants identified in PKD patients with disease pathogenesis. For this work, I was awarded with best poster presentation award by Indian society of Human genetics. My research works have been recognized by reputed international journals. After Ph.D., I joined Mayo Clinic as visiting fellow where I worked on finding mosaicism in rare cases of polycystic kidney disease which has been published in Kidney international journal. From the project, I gained experience in whole genome sequencing analysis. I am personally interested to understand and develop new therapeutic approaches in prostate cancer, and I am fortunate to receive this opportunity to join as a visiting Fellow in Dr. Kelly lab, NCI, NIH in 2019. I am working in a project entitled “Identifying viability factors in prostate cancer to develop better therapeutic targets”. I am working with patient-derived organoids that model the genomic and phenotypic landscape of clinical CRPC and developed novel protocols for CRISPR screening in these models.
