Dr. Sivakumar Dhandapani is a distinguished academician, researcher, and administrator currently serving as Professor of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering -Cyber security at Rajalakshmi Engineering College, Chennai. With over 28 years of extensive experience in teaching, research, and academic leadership, he has played a pivotal role in strengthening engineering education, research culture, and institutional development.
Dr. Sivakumar Dhandapani is an alumnus of Madras University and Anna University, Chennai. His core research interests span Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Cyber Security, Wireless Communication Networks, and Emerging Computing Technologies. He has made significant scholarly contributions with over 260 research publications in reputed national and international peer-reviewed journals and conferences. His research work has been presented at several international platforms, including conferences held in Dubai, Bangkok, and Indonesia. In addition, he has authored two books and nine book chapters published by national and international publishers.
A committed research mentor, Dr. Sivakumar Dhandapani has successfully guided 11 Ph.D. scholars and is currently supervising Six doctoral researchers, including Junior Research Fellows at AMET University and scholars at Anna University. He is an approved Ph.D. supervisor at Anna University, AMET University, Bharath University, and Sathyabama University, and actively serves as a Doctoral Committee Member across these institutions.
He is also an innovator and entrepreneur, being the Founder of Anoria Syscoms, a start-up focused on the design and development of advanced antenna systems. His innovation credentials include 14 patents, comprising two granted design patents and two utility patents, reflecting his multidisciplinary research approach.
Dr. Sivakumar Dhandapani actively contributes to the global research ecosystem as a reviewer for reputed journals, including Elsevier’s International Journal of Mobile Communication, Springer Nature, and China Communications Journal. He has continuously upgraded his professional skills through nine NPTEL certifications and seven professional online courses in Computer Science and Engineering.
He is a member of several esteemed professional bodies, including IEEE, FIETE, CSI, ISTE, IACSIT, IAEng, CSTA, and IET. Under his leadership, the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at AMET University has successfully organized national conferences, workshops, seminars, and technical events, promoting innovation, interdisciplinary research, and industry academia collaboration.
His academic excellence has been recognized through multiple honors, including the Best Paper Presenter Award from the Computer Society of India (CSI), the Outstanding Faculty Award for contributions to Wireless Mobile Ad Hoc Networks, and the Award for Maximum Project Funding from the Government of India (2010–2011). He has secured research grants totaling ₹24.5 lakhs from funding agencies such as AICTE, SCST, and IET.
