Dr. Ravi Tomar is currently an Assistant Professor at the Department of Chemistry, SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Delhi-NCR Campus, Modinagar, Uttar Pradesh. He is also a SERB-TARE fellow at the Department of Chemical Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Delhi. Previously, Dr. Tomar has held the position of Associate Dean of Students’ Welfare at SGT University, Gurugram, for a tenure of two years.
Dr. Tomar was awarded a Doctorate Degree from the Department of Chemistry, University of Delhi in 2019. During his Ph.D., he worked on the synthesis, characterization, and application of Cerium-based catalysts. Prior to his Ph.D., he completed his Master of Science from the School of Materials Science, Japan Advanced Institute of Science and Technology, Japan. His Master’s thesis work centered on the base-free oxidation of Aldose Sugars to Aldonic Acids using Supported Gold Nanoparticles. Additionally, Dr. Tomar earned a Master of Technology from the Department of Chemistry at the University of Delhi.
Dr. Tomar’s current research interests revolve around the synthesis of various materials and ionic liquids, as well as exploring their applications across diverse fields. He has contributed significantly to the academic community, and served as a Guest Editor for Current Organic Chemistry and Current Organic Synthesis, in addition to his role as a reviewer for various peer-reviewed journals e.g. International Journal of Biological Macromolecules, iScience, BMC Chemistry, Current Medicinal Chemistry, Scientific Reports, Letter in Organic Chemistry, Chemistry Africa, Anti-Cancer Agents in Medicinal Chemistry, Artificial cells, nanomedicine, and biotechnology, Topics in catalysis, Topics in current chemistry, Journal of Chemistry, Journal of Nanotechnology. Dr. Tomar is an Academic Editor in PLOS ONE and an Editorial Board Member in reputed journals e.g. Scientific Reports, BMC Methods, Current Indian Science, Discover Chemistry. Dr. Tomar has been awarded two research grants from SERB and CST UP. Dr. Tomar has an extensive publication record, with over 40 publications and 4 books in esteemed publishers.
