Dr. S. Ilangovan is an Assistant Professor with 14 years of teaching experience and 2 years of industry exposure. He completed his Doctorate of Philosophy in Composite Materials at Anna University, Chennai, Tamilnadu, India in 2021. Prior to his Ph.D., he earned a Master of Engineering in Manufacturing Systems & Management from Anna University in 2008.
Currently, he is working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at SRM Institute of Science & Technology in Chennai, Tamilnadu, India. His research interests encompass a wide range of topics related to

Composites,
Material characterization,
Polymer nanocomposites,
Finite element modeling,
Vibrational analysis,
Pressure-withstanding capabilities of composite pipes,
Nanoparticles,
Synthesis of nanomaterials, and
Hybrid materials.

With his expertise in composites and material characterization & contributes to the understanding and development of advanced materials with improved properties. His research includes exploring the use of nanoparticles in composite materials to enhance their mechanical, thermal, and vibrational characteristics. Additionally, he focuses on studying the pressure-withstanding capabilities of composite pipes, which is crucial for applications where pipes are subjected to high-pressure environments.

His research involves both theoretical and experimental aspects, employing techniques such as finite element modeling and material synthesis. His work aims to bridge the gap between academia and industry by addressing practical challenges and finding innovative solutions through the development of hybrid materials.
