About
My name is Dr Iqbal Qasim, and I am working as a Senior Resident at the Advanced Center for Human Genetics of the Sher-I-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS, J&K, India). I have been working in cytogenetics and molecular diagnostics for 3 years now. We in our lab are involved in karyotyping and counseling patients with recurrent abortions, Down’s syndrome, or any other trisomy and various other structural or numerical chromosomal abnormalities. In addition to diagnostics, I also teach undergraduates and supervise Master’s students for their dissertations. In 2019, I received my Ph.D. from the Department of Biotechnology at Jaipur National University University in India. Further, I hold a Master's degree in Biotechnology from Bangalore University. My doctoral research has provided me the opportunity to gain experience in in-vivo and in-vitro experimentation, molecular biology techniques, animal handling and exposure, cell signaling, independent planning, and execution of experiments. I have authored/co-authored more than 20 scientific papers in peer-reviewed international journals.
