Dr. Vimal Kumar is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Madan Mohan Malaviya University of Technology (MMMUT), Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh, India. He received his B.Tech. in Information Technology from Uttar Pradesh Technical University, Lucknow, in 2007, his M.Tech. in Information Security from Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology (MNNIT), Allahabad, in 2011, and his Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering from Madan Mohan Malaviya Engineering College (MMMEC), Gorakhpur, in 2017. Before joining MMMUT, he served at Meerut Institute of Engineering and Technology (MIET), Galgotias University, Greater Noida, as a Contractual Faculty at the Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET), Lucknow, and as a Visiting Faculty at MNNIT Allahabad. He is a recipient of the Cisco Networking Academy Instructor Award and the Exceptional Research Contributions Award (2023–24) at Galgotias University. He has earned professional certifications from WIPO, IBM, Cisco, and Palo Alto Networks in intellectual property, cybersecurity, identity and access management, CyberOps, cloud security, and security operations. His research interests include cyber security, digital forensics, and computer networks. He has published research papers in reputed journals and conferences and is actively involved in research, training, consultancy, and the establishment of the Cyber Forensics Research Centre at MMMUT, Gorakhpur.
