About
Dr. S. Rajasekhara Reddy received a Ph. D from IIT Madras in 2010. He received his B.Sc., from Acharya Nagarjuna University (1997-2000), his M.Sc. from Andhra University (2002), India, and worked as a Junior Research Fellow (JRF) at IIT Guwahati (2003-2004), India. He started his independent research in 2010 at Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT), Vellore as faculty in the Department of Chemistry, School of Advanced Sciences, in the capacity of Assistant Professor. He served as Associate Professor from 2014 to 2022. From January 2023 to till date he has been working as Professor. He pursued his post-doctoral research work at Professor Ching Fa Yao’s lab (March 2018 to December. 2018) at, National Taiwan Normal University.
His current research focuses on societal importance with the background of "Synthetic organic chemistry, Catalysis, Medicinal Chemistry, Asymmetric synthesis, and chemistry from renewable resources (particularly from carbohydrates and plants) and Chemical Biology. Dr. Reddy has been published consistently in peer-reviewed international journals and actively participating in national and international conferences. Dr. Reddy shares his research contributions through invited lectures, oral presentations, and poster presentations and he has been aptly recognized for his valuable contributions by multiple research institutes and industries (eg. Kaohsiung Medical University KMU [Taiwan], Tunghai University [Taiwan], NTNU [Taiwan], IICT, NIPER, IITs, Suven Life Sciences Pvt. Ltd). He has been involved in organizing various national and international conferences, faculty development programs and workshops, to his credit, he has served as a convener, organizing secretary, and co-ordinator and also worked as an organizing member in various committees. Of late, he had invited 12 Professors from KMU, Taiwan, organized an Indo-Taiwan workshop and worked for creating the MoU between KMU and VIT.
Dr. Reddy is diligently doing his duties in teaching, research, and guiding Ph.D. Scholars. Under his supervision, five doctoral students were awarded their Ph.D. degree. Apart from this, 14 postgraduate chemistry students and 3 B. Tech. Students did their final year projects under his supervision and completed one DST-SERB project as PI(2012-2016) and another one as Co-PI (DST-SERB, 2014-2017). Currently, he is guiding 6 Ph. D sholars and Five Master Students. Dr. Reddy is highly capable of contributing significantly to research areas that are comparable to international standards.
