About
Prof Dilip Kumar Sharma is B.E.(CSE), M.Tech. (CSE) and Ph.D in Computer Science and Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Dhanbad, India. He is a Senior Member of IEEE, ACM, and CSI. He is a Fellow of IE and IETE. Presently he is working at GLA University, Mathura, India in the capacity of Dean of International Relations and Academic Collaborations since June 01, 2022, and Senior Professor in the Computer Engineering & Applications Department. Previous to it, he served in the capacity of Associate Dean (Academic Collaborations), GLA University from 22 June, 2019 to 31 May, 2022. He facilitated the signing of more than 250 MoUs/ Academic Collaborations in the last six years with acclaimed institutions, academia, and research centers - Nationally and Internationally along with renowned government agencies, bodies, and corporate entities.
He is working as a Professor in the Department of Computer Engineering & Applications, GLA University Mathura, from March 27, 2003, to till now. He has delivered/chaired more than 150 invited talks/guest lectures and chaired technical sessions at various institutes/conferences, internationally and nationally. Currently, he is working as PI/Co-PI of three Government-funded research projects worth Rupees 27.06 Lacs. His Google Scholar citations are more than 2300. His Google Scholar H index is 22, and his i-10 index is 70. He has edited 09 Books published by reputed publishers. He has published more than 255 research papers in International Journals /Conferences of repute indexed in SCI, Scopus and DBLP databases and participated in 60 International/National conferences. He has one granted patent and five published Indian patents. Also, he provides consultancy services. He has attended 49 short-term courses/workshops/seminars organized by various esteemed originations and worked as a Guest Editor of International Journals of repute. He has organized more than 50 IEEE/CSI International/National Conferences and Workshops in the capacity of General Chair, Co-General Chair, Convener, Co-convener etc. He has been conferred with the prestigious Significant Contribution Award by the Computer Society of India, apex body in this field in the years 2012, 2013, 2014 & 2017. Additionally, he is the recipient of IEEE U.P. Section 2018 Outstanding Volunteer Award presented at the IEEE Uttar Pradesh Section Annual General Meeting held on January 19, 2019 at IIT Kanpur, India. Also, he has visited Sri Lanka, Belgium, Netherlands, Singapore, Malaysia, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, UAE, Mala, Italy, Switzerland, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Macau, Nepal,in connection with academic pursuits. He is a Visiting Professor at UUM, Malaysia, also an Adjunct Professor at STIKOM University Indonesia, and INSTIKI University Indonesia, and worked as an Adjunct Professor at Taylor’s University Malaysia from March 2023 to February 2025. He is the past Vice-Chairman/ Secretary/ Joint Secretary of IEEE Uttar Pradesh Section India. He is the Past Chairman of the Computer Society of India, Mathura Chapter. He is NAAC Peer Team Assessor member for assessment of Universities and Colleges as well as Evaluator Panel member in National Board of Accreditation (NBA), India for Computer Science and Engineering/Information Technology/Information Science & Engineering Programs evaluation since 2019. In AICTE, worked as an Evaluator for AQIS proposals under AICTE Quality Improvement Schemes. Ph.D. and Master Thesis Evaluators at the University of Canberra, Australia, Taylor’s University, Malaysia, University of Malaya, Malaysia, Sunway’s University, Malaysia, University of Mauritius, Mauritius, etc. Virtual Teaching in USA University. Recently, Prof Sharma was appointed as a member of the Association of the Universities of Asia and the Pacific (AUAP) Research and Innovation Committee. AUAP is a platform and voices of universities in Asia and the Pacific and around the world. AUAP is a Non-Governmental Organization, holding the highest formal consultative status with UNESCO.
His research interests are Machine Learning, Fake news Detection, Web Information Retrieval, Data Mining, Data Science, and Software Engineering. He has guided 10 PhD and 25 Master of Technology Thesis projects and oversaw various seminars undertaken by the students at the undergraduate/postgraduate levels. Currently, he is guiding 08 PhDs and a numbers of M Tech thesis, Seminars, and B Tech Projects.
