Deepak Putrevu is Scientist/Engr SG at Space Applications Centre (SAC), ISRO, Ahmedabad and heads Advanced Techniques Development Division at SAC. He has 25 years of experience in the areas of system design and development of microwave sensors for remote sensing applications, and has contributed to various key projects of ISRO, mainly, Multifrequency Scanning Microwave Radiometer (MSMR) payload of Oceansat-1 satellite, airborne Disaster Management SAR, Radar Imaging Satellite (RISAT-1) SAR payload, Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) and Chandrayaan-2 Dual-frequency SAR (DFSAR) for which he was the Deputy Project Director. He, currently, leads science and applications team for RISAT-1A, NISAR, Chandrayaan-2 DFSAR instruments. He is a joint holder of a patent on near-field antenna pattern measurement technique and is a recipient of two awards of ISRO for his contribution towards RISAT-1 SAR and GPR development.
