Claudia Gragnoli is M.D. and Ph.D. She is an endocrinologist who has been working in the genetics of maturity-onset diabetes of the young (MODY); type 2 diabetes (T2D); associated phenotypes, mostly in the Italian population. She performed her research training at the University of Chicago, at Mass General Hospital, where she was a Research Fellow, International Rotary Ambassador, and NIH Training Fellow, and at Harvard Medical School, where she was an Instructor of Medicine. She has been lecturing/tutoring human genetics of monogenic and complex disorders/endocrinology/chemistry and cell biology. She has been the Director of the Laboratory of Molecular Genetics of Monogenic and Complex Disorders, an Assistant Professor at Penn State Hershey Medical Center, and PI of an NIH RO1 grant, and an Associate Professor in Medicine at Thomas Jefferson University. She is an Adjunct Professor of Public Health Sciences at Penn State College of Medicine and a Professor of Medicine, Chief of Endocrinology, and Endowed Puller Chair at Creighton University. She is passionate about metabolic and mental comorbidities, endocrinology research, environmental exposure effects on health, and integrative medicine approaches.
