About
Dr. Tamal Jana is currently working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Aerospace Engineering at B.M.S. College of Engineering. Prior to joining this institute in September 2023, he worked as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Aerospace Engineering at JAIN (Deemed-to-be University). He received his Ph.D. degree from the Department of Aerospace Engineering, IIT Kharagpur in 2021. His fields of research are Aerodynamics, and Thermal and Fluid Sciences. Particularly, his research interest includes both the experimental and the computational assessment of Shock/Boundary-Layer Interactions, jet control and base flows. As a part of his M Tech thesis, he worked on the development of a small-scale convective heating open jet test facility by investigating the flame jet mixing characteristics (experimentally) at the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO). He has guided one doctoral student so far. In addition to being a researcher, he is a reviewer of multiple international journals and national conferences.
