Biography of Dr. Shipra Gupta
Dr. Shipra Gupta is a distinguished academician and researcher currently serving as a Professor in the School of Management at Graphic Era Hill University, Dehradun, India. With over 15 years of extensive teaching experience and nearly two decades of research engagement, she has made significant contributions to the fields of finance, banking, and waste management. Dr. Gupta earned her Ph.D. from Chaudhary Charan Singh University, Meerut, in 2011, with a thesis entitled “Comparative Study of Financial Services Provided by Selected Indian and Foreign Banks.” She also holds an MBA with specialization in Finance from Uttarakhand Technical University, Dehradun, where she secured first division and was the top-ranking student of her institute. Additionally, she completed her M.Com. from HNB Garhwal University and B.Com. from CCS University, Meerut, both with first division.
Throughout her academic career, Dr. Gupta has held several teaching and administrative positions. She served as an Assistant Professor at Beehive College of Management & Technology and SGRR University, Dehradun, before joining Graphic Era Hill University, where she progressed to the position of Associate Professor and subsequently Professor. At present, she actively contributes to academic administration as a NAAC Criteria 1 Coordinator, BBA program coordinator, and faculty mentor for research scholars pursuing doctoral studies under her supervision. Dr. Gupta’s research profile is highly prolific and impactful. She has published over 66 research papers in reputed journals, including those indexed in Scopus and listed under UGC CARE. Her scholarly work spans interdisciplinary domains such as artificial intelligence in finance, sustainable development, smart cities, and environmental management. She has also contributed to international conferences, IEEE proceedings, and book chapters published by reputed publishers including CRC Press and Taylor & Francis.
In addition to her publications, Dr. Gupta has demonstrated remarkable innovation through her contributions to intellectual property. She has been associated with more than 25 patent publications, with multiple patents granted both in India and internationally, including recognition by the Australian Government. Her patented works cover diverse areas such as IoT-based systems, waste management technologies, smart city innovations, and environmental sustainability solutions. Dr. Gupta has authored two academic books published in Germany, focusing on e-banking and mutual funds, reflecting her strong foundation in financial studies. She has also actively participated in numerous faculty development programs, workshops, and international conferences, enhancing her expertise in contemporary research methodologies, data analytics, and emerging technologies. Her research interests include finance, banking systems, artificial intelligence applications, and sustainable waste management practices. She is also engaged in academic outreach through her YouTube channel, “Learning Finance and Management by Dr. Shipra Gupta,” aimed at promoting accessible and flexible learning for students.
