About
I earned integrated PhD in Physics (2018) from the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR, Mumbai). My doctoral research explored the dynamics of relativistic electron pulses in solids. I received the Saraswathi Cowsik Medal and an honorable mention for the Geeta Udgaonkar Award for his PhD thesis, both awarded by the TIFR Alumni Association.
After PhD, I gained extensive international experience through several prestigious postdoctoral positions, where I worked on ultrafast atomic, molecular, and optical sciences (AMO) using ultrashort-pulse lasers, high-harmonic light sources, synchrotrons, and X-ray free-electron lasers. I spearheaded the development of a high-power femtosecond laser lab (55kHz, 1030nm, 50 fs, 120W) for high-harmonic generation at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (2021-2025) to study quantum many-body dynamics. At the University of Arizona (2020–2021), I led the building of a lab from the ground up for attosecond soft X-ray (SXR) spectroscopy to investigate ultrafast core-electron dynamics in atoms and molecules. Before that, I was a postdoctoral researcher at ICFO (2018-2019), where I explored intense-laser-field-driven structural changes in isolated molecules.
My research career is distinguished by national and international collaborations. I played leadership roles in complex experimental campaigns at some of the world's most advanced scientific facilities, such as Advanced Light Source (LBNL, USA) and SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory (LCLS, USA).
I have authored more than 20 peer-reviewed publications in leading journals, including Physical Review Letters, Nature Communications, and Physical Review A and active in serving the international scientific community as a reviewer for several high-impact journals, as a Reviewing Editor for Nature journals, and as a member of the American Physical Society and the Optical Society of America (Optica).
