About
A Technical Director and Senior Geotechnical Engineer with over 11 years of hands-on experience across the GCC, MENA, and Europe. I have had the privilege of leading complex projects, including the design of the world’s largest Micropiled Post-Tensioned Raft in Bahrain (2022), shoring projects for the US Navy, geotechnical works for Saudi Aramco’s Oil & Gas Infrastructure, Riyadh Metro investigations, and contributions to the HS2 project in the UK.
I hold a B.Sc. in Civil Engineering from the University of Khartoum (2012) and an M.Sc. in Geotechnical Engineering from King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals (QS World Ranking: #101) in 2018. I am currently pursuing a PhD with a focus on dynamic soil-structure interaction for piled and micropiled raft foundation systems at the prestigious IIT Bombay.
My technical interests include soil-structure interaction (SSI) using Plaxis 2D/3D, remote sensing techniques like InSAR and GIS, DEM modelling, and geohazards. I also work with foundation and soil improvement methods (piled and micropiled rafts, stone columns), deep excavation solutions (MSE walls, secant piles, ground anchors), and geosynthetics. I have experience in lab and field testing, BIM and digital twinning (Revit), as well as programming (Python, VBA) to support my work.
I founded the Gulf Geotechnical Engineers (GGE) platform to promote collaboration and knowledge-sharing in the field. Beyond engineering, I enjoy lecturing, reviewing, writing, research, and poetry.
Throughout my career, I have focused on practical, effective solutions that drive innovation and contribute to the success of challenging geotechnical projects.
