About
I am currently working as an Assistant Professor in School of Mechanical Engineering, Vellore Institute of Technology, (VIT), Chennai since June 2020. Recently, I have published two Patent and seven SCI Journals.
I received my Ph.D. from Department of Mechanical Engineering, IIT (BHU) Varanasi, India in 2019 under the supervision of Prof. S.K. Panda. The title of my Ph.D. thesis is “Study of Weibull Design Criterion to Characterize the Fracture Behavior of Bimodular Nuclear Graphite Components”. During my Ph.D., I have worked on failure and fracture characteristics of bimodular nuclear grade graphite. This work involves analytical and experimental correlation with the rigorous finite element simulation model. Formulae have been developed to characterize the size-effect on the strength for the unimodular nuclear grade graphite and it validated by numerical approach by using ANSYS (FE model) WeibPar and CARES life software(Statistical strength prediction, Developed by NASA) for unimodular materials. For bimodular graphite, self-developed analytical contribution is validated by experimental based numerical statistical approach. The numerical approach bimodular model has been developed by using COMSOL multiphysics and for experimental statistical approach is done by using self-written code (because Weibpar and CARES is limited to unimodular materials) using FORTRAN Programming and the contribution is published in two papers in Journal of Testing and Evaluation - ASTM and one under review in Journal of Engineering for Gas Turbines and Power - ASME. Further, I did the experimental and computational correlation of fracture parameters for unimodular and bimodular graphite components and the contribution is published in most reputed and oldest Journal in nuclear field i.e. Journal of Nuclear Materials as longest paper in published year and also finds a place in the catalogue of "The SAO/NASA Astrophysics Data System (http://adsabs.harvard.edu/abs/2018JNuM..503..205B), Sciece.gov(gateway to U.S. Federal Science) and acclaimed many places worldwide.
Prior to that, I have earned my masters’ degree in Machine Design from IIT (BHU), Varanasi, India in 2012.
During my masters, I have extensively worked on the finite element modelling of plate with curved crack undergoing transient load using ANSYS and almost 80 pages code in Fortran software for calculation of J-integral (Line integral + area integral) with ANSYS post processing results.
The work I have done until now has been published in reputed peer-reviewed journals like Journal of Nuclear Materials, ASTM- Journal of Testing and Evaluation, Finite Element Analysis, Mechanics Research Communication (oxford university journal), RSC Advance and Mechanics Based Design of Structures and Machines. Three more contributions related to fracture parameter development in Thermo, magneto, elastic bimodulal field soon. Apart from my Ph.D. work, I have some experience in C/C++, FORTRAN, Wolfram Mathematica, Auto CAD, SolidWorks, Creo and ANSYS, COMSOL FEA, digital Image Correlation, as well.
I am very eager to do research; for this I want to do collaborative works and continuously submitted different proposals of about approx. 3.5 crore to DST and CST UP (relate to smart lower limb-design and automation & robotics).
