Vikram Thakur, Ph.D., is a Postdoctoral Research Associate at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, El Paso, USA. His research focuses on molecular virology, virus–host interactions, neuroinflammation, and cancer biology. He has extensive experience in viral pathogenesis, immunology, molecular diagnostics, and translational biomedical research, with previous work on hepatitis E virus, dengue virus, respiratory viruses, and inflammasome signaling. He is currently expanding his research into oncogenic herpesviruses, particularly Epstein–Barr virus (EBV) and Kaposi sarcoma-associated herpesvirus (KSHV), to investigate mechanisms of viral oncogenesis and identify novel therapeutic targets for lymphoma and virus-associated cancers.
