About
Dr. Bharath Haridas Aithal received a B.E. degree in electrical engineering from the Bangalore University, Karnataka, India, in 2009 and Ph.D. degree in Data mining, urban pattern analysis and modelling from the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, India, in 2015. During doctoral work, he worked on understanding and modelling the pattern of urban growth in various cities of India, his thesis reflects the future implications with an ongoing rate of urbanization. He has been recognized and he has been awarded several awards such as Sahyadri young ecologist 2014, young researcher of the year by NESA in 2016, Sahyadri young researcher in 2016, Young Engineer award in 2019 by IEI, and Indian National Geospatial Award 2019 by ISRS.
Dr. Bharath H. Aithal is currently a faculty at the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur. He has published 60 journal papers, 8 Book chapters, 2 Books, 120 Conference proceedings, and 50 Technical reports. He is now working on Digital Data observatories for the smart cities of India. His future vision is to build digital data access to the commons of India and to provide basic amenities in every nook and corner of India through digital data.
