About
Dr. P. Venkatraman Ph.D., earned his Master’s Degree in Medical Physics from the Bharathiar University, Coimbatore Tamil Nadu in 2018.He gained PhD on his thesis “Fabrication and characterization of 3D Positive ion detector and its applications”. He actively involved and participated in organizing five National and one International Workshops in this field. He has been granted two patents in the field of “Nano-dosimetry” and in the area of “COVIDX” recently. He was awarded Patent Appreciation Award to grant first patent through IPR cell from Bharathiar University. Dr. P. Venkatraman published 15 articles in journals like Radiotherapy and Oncology, Nuclear Instruments and Methods in Physics Research A, Nuclear Instruments and Methods in Physics Research Section B, Sensor Letters, Informatics in medicine unlocked. He also published 25 abstracts in “Indian Journal of Medical Physics”. He presented nearly 70 abstracts at several National and International conferences in the field of Nano dosimetry. Dr. P. Venkatraman was awarded the AMPI Meritorious Medical Physicist Award for his excellence in the field of Medical Physics by the Association of Medical Physicist of India (AMPI) during 42nd Annual conference (AMPICON 2021), 19 – 21 May 2022 in Bangalore, India. He also received the Dr R K Borkotoky Best research paper award 2019 for developing a low-cost early breast and lung cancer detection device at Cancer Research Foundation India (CRFI), Dr B Borooah Cancer Institute, and Guwahati, India. He was awarded AFOMP Best Poster Presentation award in 17th Asia-Oceania Congress of Medical Physics (AOCMP – 2017) in conjunction with 38th Annual Conference of Association of Medical Physicists of India (AMPICON – 2017), Jaipur, India. He also received Dr. M. S. Agarwal Young Investigator Award 2019 during 40th Annual conference (AMPICON 2019) in Kolkata, India. He was granted a Visiting fellowship from various funding agency like Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB), Department of Science and Technology (DST), New Delhi to participate in the Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB), Department of Science and Technology (DST), New Delhi, International Conference on Nuclear Tracks a Radiation Measurements (ICNTRM), Strasbourg (France), International Conference on Ion Beam Analysis (IBA 2017), Shanghai, China and ICTP-IAEA International Centre for Theoretical Physics (ICTP), Trieste, Italy. His contribution towards Medical Physics is significant, he has been working as a co-investigator of the study, second to conduct Phase I trial & first to Phase II trial in India, to treat “COVID 19 pneumonia with Low Dose Radiotherapy LDRT using a Linear Accelerator” to serve people with early improvement in oxygenation accompanied by reduced demand for supplemental oxygen and providing early clinical recovery and hospital discharge.
