About
Dr Ajaz A Rather graduated from Govt. Medical College (GMC) Srinagar in 1991. He completed his MBBS with distinction and outstanding performance, and hard work. He completed his Master’s Degree from GMC Srinagar in 2002.
He joined as faculty in SKIMS Medical College Bemina in 2006 and worked in various capacities as Lecturer, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor and Professor .He has been heading the Department of surgery since 2013 and has an additional charge of Registrar Academics at present,
He obtained Fellowships from Royal College of surgeons UK (FRCS),American College of surgeons (FACS) International college of Surgeons (FICS) International college of laparoscopic Surgeons (FCLS) and Colo-Rectal Surgeons of India(FACRSI).He did Travelling Fellowship in Colorectal surgery in Heartland hospital UK .He is member of eleven National & International surgical Associations
He has been Awarded Certificate of Excellence by Harvard Medical School in“Biomedical Research and Data Management”,Certificate of Appreciation by Dean College of Medicine, University of Bisha, Saudi Arabia for distinguished teaching in Department of Surgery, Awarded certificate of Appreciation by Director Gulf publications for dedicated services as an Associate editor for journal of clinical Medicine and Research. He has more than 80 publications to his credit and has delivered Guest lectures / Presented papers in more than 50 conferences at National & International level.
