About
I am currently a Research Associate at Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU), Qatar, with interdisciplinary expertise spanning computational biology, bioinformatics, artificial intelligence, and plant sciences. My research focuses on the integration of computational and experimental approaches for drug discovery, particularly in the identification and development of novel therapeutics from natural products and small molecules. I have extensive experience in structure-based drug discovery, virtual screening of ultra-large chemical libraries, molecular docking, molecular dynamics simulations, cheminformatics, and high-performance computing. My current interests include the discovery of small-molecule modulators for neurological disorders, infectious diseases, and cancer, leveraging artificial intelligence and data-driven approaches to accelerate therapeutic development.
Alongside my computational expertise, I possess a strong foundation in wet-laboratory plant sciences, phytochemistry, and molecular biology. My research has involved medicinal plant exploration, extraction and characterization of bioactive compounds, phytochemical screening, antimicrobial and biological activity assays, and the experimental validation of computational findings. I am particularly interested in bridging traditional medicinal knowledge with modern computational biology to elucidate the molecular mechanisms underlying plant-derived therapeutics. My long-term research vision is to integrate artificial intelligence, multi-omics technologies, and systems biology with experimental sciences to advance precision medicine and develop innovative solutions for complex biomedical challenges.
