Dr. Srinivasa Prakash Regalla ( ʃri nɪ vɑ sɑ prɑˈkɑʃ ˌrɛ gɑ llə) obtained his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from IIT Delhi in 1998, M. Tech in Manufacturing Science (Mechanical Engineering) from IIT Kanpur in 1992, and B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from Kakatiya Institute of Technology and Science Warangal in 1990. He was a guest researcher in 1998 at the NIST, Gaithersburg, Maryland, USA, during which he researched the engineering design technologies related to National Advanced Manufacturing Testbed (NAMT). He joined BITS Pilani, Pilani campus as an Assistant Professor in 1998. Presently, he is a Senior Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, BITS Pilani, Hyderabad Campus, and formerly the Dean (Institute-wide) of Practice School Division, Head of the department of mechanical engineering at Hyderabad campus, associate dean of work-integrated learning programmes, assistant dean of research & consultancy division, professor in charge of faculty affairs, member of the Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) imperative team of Mission-2013, Lead of the industry engagement imperative of Mission-2015 at BITS Pilani, and founder coordinator for Product Design and Realization Laboratory. He published 61 peer-reviewed international journal papers, among which 30 are SCI, 23 are Scopus and 8 are other
peer-reviewed; 36 peer-reviewed conference papers among which 13 are Scopus; 4 patents; 2 books; 2 book chapters (springer) and edited one book. He guided 9 PhDs and currently guiding 3 PhDs. He completed three funded research projects. Presently one funded project on metal additive manufacturing as PI is in progress. The completed projects include the PI of a low-cost and affordable additive manufacturing (AM) made below-knee prostheses funded by DBT/BIRAC/BIG. He taught a large variety of undergraduate and postgraduate courses at BITS Pilani, both on-campus and WILP. His research areas are Additive Manufacturing, CAD/CAM, Applied Mechanics, Product Design, and Tribology. He is a member of ASME, ISPO, SAE-India, TSI, and a Fellow of the Institution of Engineers (India). Dr. Srinivasa Prakash Regalla was born in Manthani (Peddapalli), studied in government high school in Bodhan, and intermediate in Madhumalancha Junior College in Shakarnagar.
