Dr. Md Sazzad Hossain is working as Professor at Sylhet Agricultural University, Bangladesh. His main task is teaching and research. He worked as an Alexander von Humboldt (AvH) Postdoctoral Fellow at the Institute of Plant Nutrition and Soil Science, Christian-Albrechts-Universität zu Kiel, Germany. During his post-doctoral research, he worked on apoplastic pH regulation under salinity stress in sugar beet. He also received a prestigious DAAD fellowship for his Ph.D. in 2013 and completed it in 2017. During his doctoral research, he worked on "Cellular ROS-redox network and ion homeostasis mechanisms in sugar beet under salinity stress" under the academic supervision of Professor Dr. Karl-Josef Dietz. He has also participated in various international seminars and conferences. He worked as a member of the conference organizing committee and rapporteur at the International Conference on Sustainable Agriculture and Rural Development: Road to SDGs, Bangladesh. He also attended to "International Conference (BOTANIKERTAGUNG, München, Germany)" and "International Conference on Integrated Rice-Duck Farming, Bangladesh".

Live member of Bangladesh Society of Agronomy (BSA), Krishibid Institute of Bangladesh (Professional Society of agriculturist), and Founder member of Interdisciplinary Research for Future Agriculture-IRFA, Sylhet Agricultural University, Bangladesh.
