About
I am a postdoctoral researcher at Toulouse Biotechnology Institute (TBI), INSA Toulouse, France, working on advanced life cycle assessment methods for bio-based systems. My research focuses on consequential life cycle assessment, bioenergy, thermochemical conversion, sustainable waste valorization, renewable fuels, techno-economic assessment, and circular economy strategies.
I received my Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli, India, with international doctoral research experience at Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ), Brazil. My doctoral research focused on the co-pyrolysis of biomass residues and plastic waste for the recovery of renewable hydrocarbons and their application in internal combustion engines.
My current postdoctoral work contributes to the Horizon Europe-funded ALIGNED project, where I develop transparent, science-based environmental assessment models for bio-based value chains, including bio-phenol production from softwood pyrolysis. I also collaborate with industrial stakeholders to support data collection, process understanding, and sustainability-driven decision-making. Previously, as an Institute Postdoctoral Research Fellow at IIT Palakkad, India, I worked on catalytic co-pyrolysis of plastic and biomass waste and contributed to the development of a pilot-scale pyrolyzer for waste valorization.
My expertise includes life cycle assessment using tools such as SimaPro, Brightway, Activity Browser, and openLCA, as well as experimental work on pyrolysis, catalyst synthesis, renewable fuel production, and process analysis. I also have hands-on experience with analytical techniques including TGA, GC-MS, FTIR, SEM, and XRD.
Through research experience across India, Brazil, and France, I have developed strong interdisciplinary, intercultural, and collaborative skills. My long-term vision is to bridge fundamental research, life cycle thinking, and industrial implementation to develop sustainable technologies for waste management, renewable energy, and low-carbon bio-based products.
