About
During my doctoral studies at the Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru, I underwent formal training in the chemistry and physics of semiconducting materials and devices. My research focused on the molecular design, fabrication of organic photovoltaic (OPV) devices and their electrical and photophysical characterization with particular emphasis on investigating the impact of resonance energy transfer on the photovoltaic performance of ternary blends.
During my postdoctoral stint at RASEI, CU Boulder and NREL, my focus has been directed towards accomplishing four main objectives:
(i) Conducting in situ examinations of charge-dielectric interactions using polymer blends as photocathodes in aqueous media via both steady-state and time-resolved microwave conductivity, aiming to establish correlations with their photo-electrocatalytic hydrogen generation efficiency.
(ii) Fabrication of OPVs utilizing aryl phosphonic acids as an alternative and passivator to conventional oxide materials for electron transport layers.
(iii) Investigating charge transport in n-type polymers through controlled reduction employing both chemical and electrochemical methodologies.
(iv) Exploring the photo or thermal crosslinking of polymers to enhance mechanical durability and aqueous processability under acidic/basic conditions, thereby enhancing their suitability for various optoelectronic applications.
