Dr. Vidya Nand Singh has done his M. Sc in Solid State Physics from BHU, Varanasi; M. Tech in Solid State Materials from IIT Delhi; and PhD from IIT Delhi on non-material-based gas sensors. After his PhD, he was looking after the electron microscopy facility at IITD. At present, he is working as a Senior Principal Scientist at the National Physical Laboratory, New Delhi. His current areas of research are inorganic solar cells, photodetectors, gas sensors, thermoelectric, and electron microscopy. Currently, he is in charge of HRTEM, cross-sectional sample preparation, and the sputtering lab at NPL. He has nearly 270 papers in journals such as Advanced Materials, Small, Journal of Physical Chemistry C, Applied Physics Letters, Journal of Materials Chemistry, Nanoscale, and Nanotechnology. He has expertise in various thin film and nonmaterial synthesis techniques. He has authored 4 books and several book chapters.
