About
Dr. Sreenivasa Rao Sagineedu is an accomplished Registered Pharmacist (IND) and Chartered Chemist (UK) with over two decades of combined academic, research and industrial experience. He currently serves as an Associate Professor of Pharmaceutical Chemistry at IMU University, where he was honoured with the John Simpson's Award for Teaching Excellence in 2023 for his dedication to chemical and pharmaceutical sciences education.
Dr. Sagineedu plays a significant role in translational activities, heading both the Centre for Bioactive Molecules and Drug Delivery and the Centre for Analytical and Pharmaceutical Services at IMU’s Institute for Research, Development and Innovation. In these capacities, he works to bridge academia and industry, facilitating commercialisation and supporting initiatives by collaborating with industry partners and academic experts. He also serves as an R&D consultant for local pharmaceutical companies, applying scholarly knowledge to address real-world challenges in areas like product development and pharmaceutical analysis.
With six years of leadership experience, Dr. Sagineedu has served as HOD for Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Programme Director for the MSc in Analytical and Pharmaceutical Chemistry, where he contributed to accreditation efforts and quality improvements. He also serves as a panel assessor for several accreditation exercises for university academic programmes. He has successfully led externally funded research projects, authored 30 ISI-indexed papers, and actively facilitated CPD programmes and corporate trainings within the pharmaceutical industry. His commitment to industry and community engagement is further evidenced by his leadership in the 'IMU-MPDA Parkinson's Community Wellness Project' and the 'Community Science for Environmental Sustainability', for which he received the Achievement Award for Leadership in Community Engagement in 2019.
