About
I am an experienced neuroimaging scientist specializing in advanced diffusion MRI, functional MRI (fMRI), and ultra-high-field (7 Tesla) imaging across both preclinical animal models and human clinical cohorts. My research centers on identifying structural and functional biomarkers of neurodegenerative diseases, traumatic brain injury (TBI), and neurocognitive aging. Currently, as a Scientist-I at the Biomedical Research Imaging Core (BRIC) at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USUHS), I lead advanced diffusion and functional MR imaging protocols, provide validation and experimental design support, and train multidisciplinary research teams. Prior to this, during my tenure at the National Institute on Aging (NIA/NIH), I quantified microstructural brain alterations associated with cognitive decline using state-of-the-art computational pipelines. During my postdoctoral fellowship at Harvard Medical School/MGH, I successfully co-developed the first in vivo ultra-high-resolution structural and functional brainstem nuclei atlas to study prodromal Parkinson's disease and REM sleep behavior disorder. This foundational work was supported by highly competitive funding frameworks from the NIH and the Michael J. Fox Foundation. My comprehensive technical toolkit across Siemens and Bruker platforms, coupled with my record of cross-institutional collaborations, uniquely positions me to drive advanced neuroimaging research initiatives.
