About
I am an Associate Director of Data Science with the Global Medical and Scientific Affairs (GMSA) Quantitative Sciences Analytics Center for Excellence (ACE), focusing on oncology-specific projects.
Previously I was a Postdoctoral Fellow working with the Digital Clinical Measures (DCM) group at Merck within Translational Medicine. I was working at the intersection of data science, data analytics, and digital health, specifically using data from wearable devices and sensors in order to develop novel digital biomarkers to quantify the progression of Parkinson's disease.
I obtained my PhD from the Department of Electrical, Computer, and Systems Engineering (ECSE) at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Troy NY, working with Prof. Sérgio Pequito of the Delft Center for Systems and Control, TU Delft, The Netherlands. My research was in the secure and resilient state estimation, control, and identification of fractional order dynamical systems. I was interested in the applications of the same to computational neuroscience and developing strategies for novel neurostimulation and neuromodulation technologies for neurodegenerative disorders, in particular, epilepsy. I also worked on the theory of optimization and time series analysis, using the former to develop novel iterative optimization algorithms.
During the course of my Masters degree, I worked with Prof. Wencen Wu, where I was interested in dynamics and automatic control, with applications in mobile sensor networks, autonomous systems and robotics. Specifically, my work was based on developing controllers for successful level curve tracking with 2 agents, avoiding the computationally expensive step of explicitly estimating the field gradient, and using both particle and unicycle models for the agents.
