Debanjan Polley
Birla Institute of Technology and Science - Hyderabad Campus, SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory
About
I, Debanjan Polley, am an experimental condensed matter physicist. I have been working at BITS-Pilani, Hyderabad Campus since May 2024 as an Assistant professor in the Department of Physics. I worked as a Research Assistant Professor at the SRM Institute of Science and Technology from May, 2023 to April, 2024. Previously, I worked as a Post-doctoral researcher in the group of Prof. Jeffrey Bokor at LBNL (and UC Berkeley). I have studied ultrafast switching in ferro and ferrimagnetic thin films using optical and electrical excitation. Before that, I worked at Stefano Bonetti's Lab at Stockholm University as a post-doctoral researcher from March 2017 to December, 2019. I completed my PhD in THz spectroscopy at S. N. Bose National Centre for Basic Sciences, Kolkata, in 2017 (Under the guidance of Prof. Rajib Kumar Mitra and Prof. Anjan Barman).
