About
I am a PhD Student under the FCT 2025 “non-academic” thesis program at the Universidade Católica Portuguesa – Escola Superior de Biotecnologia. My thesis is related to addressing the relationship between sustainability and circular requirements and safety implications. The first is a driver for the use of more recycled fibre and PFAS free cellulosic materials, while the second implies the incorporation of additives to improve resistance to moisture and the recycling-derived contaminants. I have a Bachelor degree in Chemistry from Delhi University, India, a European masters in Food technology, Science and Business from KU Leuven, Belgium. I have 5 years of experience in the field of food packaging specifically in-line with the need of chemical safety. I have been collaborating with the F2FF project (RAIZ, Portugal), the BioProtect project (Inventive Materials, Portugal) and the Cost Action CA19124. I have 6 publications, 1 pre-print, 5 first-author conference abstracts and participated in several oral presentations. Additionally, I have three years of tutoring experience and have organised national level events.
